Non lethal, air TASER devices are an excellent alternative to handguns. Since they can be discharged from a range of up to 15 feet, they are ideal for getting a huge head start and disarming an assailant before any harm can befall the intended victim.

The working mechanism of an air TASER device is fascinating in that it uses compressed air to propel two electrical probes in the direction of the assailant. Once these probes make contact with the person, they automatically cause a current of energy to interfere with the attacker’s muscle control, rendering that person incapacitated regardless of size, weight, or even drug or alcohol intoxication.

Air TASER brand products, including the more user friendly C2 version, deter assailants by momentarily disabling them, thus effectively aborting the attack. They are a good self defense tool for maintaining personal safety, but it is noteworthy that in select states, such as New York, they are not legal to own for the general public.

In most other states the sale and ownership of TASER brand personal security devices is legal and does not require oversight. They are easy to operate, and since they are very small, they fit comfortably into a jacket pocket or purse.
