Pepper Spray Key Chains are a Practical and Popular Self Defense Product
One of the key components of a good self defense strategy is to have a good plan and enough practice to effectively carry it out. Many women are harassed or attacked when entering or leaving their car, walking to or from the workplace, or after working late at the office. Male and female students are often not as safe on campus as they should be: carrying a small but effective weapon (like something connected to a key chain) is one way to equalize the situation.
Defense sprays are ideal deterrents for would-be attackers, and since they don’t require expertise in using them, they are also excellent weapons for people who may not have the physical strength or fearlessness to physically fight an opponent. Mace (different than MACE brand pepper spray products), a form of tear gas, has been outlawed in most places for use by civilians, but pepper spray is legal in most of states and can be easily purchased and used to save yourself from attack.
One of the most popular pepper sprays is the key chain spray: small enough to attach to your keys, it’s easy to carry and can be on hand any time you need it. Keys themselves can make excellent weapons as well; attach a leather thong or strap to the bunch and carry your keys in your hand so that if you need to, you can swing them in an attacker’s face, causing lacerations. But if the feeling of being that close to a potential attacker makes you feel sick and afraid, invest in a tiny keychain pepper spray: you can use it before an opponent is close enough to grab you, and keep him at arm’s length until the spray puts him on the ground—about one second after you pull the trigger.
